The Mussel Club
The Newcastle Mussel Club was set up over four years ago as an opportunity for like-minded business people to meet in an informal and social environment. Originally started with a group of twenty people for a bowl of mussels and a glass of wine, the Newcastle Mussel Club has continued to grow year on year and now offers a selection of starters and main courses with wine and coffee for the original cost of £20. The format for success has been simple; no formalised pitches, no brochures and no need to use a years supply of business cards in one night. Members can turn up when they are available and are only charged by the restaurant for their food and drink; there are no membership fees. Over the last eighteen months we have improved the format to include a guest speaker to talk for twenty minutes at the start of the night. We have now had speakers from the Bank of England, Newcastle City Council, One Northeast, CBI and our own membership to present a brief talk on current events affecting the North East or useful information to assist members. Members also have the ability to promote their business through our free website. Details of the business can be displayed including contact details, without the need for passwords or annual charges. We also publish news stories on members successes, again without charge or obligation. We look forward to welcoming you to our next event.
