My career in Financial Services began with NatWest in 1982. After various management roles I moved in 1998 to help set up a new office for the Private Financial Planning arm of the Prudential in Oxford, becoming their top consultant.

After some time advising clients in the specialist area of planning for Independent School fees and University costs,
I was invited to join the prestigious St. James's Place Partnership in 2005.

A member of the Personal Finance Society and the Chartered Insurance Institute, I am also qualified in the Financial Planning Certificate and hold an Advanced paper in Holistic Financial Planning.

I also have first hand experience of the benefits of planning early for the costs of an Independent education. My 9 year old daughter Kathryn attends the Waverley School in Berkshire. She is thoroughly enjoying herself, oblivious of the requirements to plan effectively in a time of average fee inflation of 4.0% in 2010! She also doesn't realise that on average it will cost in excess of £180,000* to educate a child from 4 to 18 at a Day school. Even if you are an officer in the Armed Forces and utilise the Boarding School Allowance similar figures apply.
