Mike began his career with the life and pensions department of a Guernsey insurance broker. In 1986 he joined Martin-Gray (Channel Islands) Limited, becoming a director in 1988. In 1989 he left the company to co-found Clarke Middleton where he was responsible for establishing the company’s presence in France and the UK.

After selling his interest in 2000 he took up an invitation to join the St. James's Place Partnership and began to develop a new Wealth Management practice particularly focussed towards business owner managers, entrepreneurs and high earners.

Clients of the practice come primarily through personal introduction and recommendation.
