Brian is a non-practicing Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Financial Planner. He provides advice for virtually all points of personal and business financial matters for clients. Prior to working, Brian graduated from Writtle Agricultural College and then from Wye College, University of London, having read Commercial Horticulture and then Horticultural Business Management. Brian’s previous experience as an Accountant, a Senior Risk Manager and Regulatory Lead enables him to advise high net-worth individuals, as well as organisations, supporting their financial circumstances and needs.
Brian's ethos is that of developing and fostering long-term relationships with clients, providing long-term financial plans to those that have specific goals and objectives in their lives, that meet their bespoke financial needs relating to all areas of their personal financial needs.
Brian's clients include professionals such as Accountants, Solicitors, Doctors and Dentists, as well as experienced Airline Pilots, and successful Entrepreneurs and Business Owners. Brian’s Agriculture and Horticulture clients also benefit from his experience.
Brian is the Deputy Chair of his Chartered Accountancy Body's UK Financial Services Panel.
Away from work, Brian spends most of his time with his wife, Muriel and his two lovely daughters! He loves rugby union and enjoys many outdoor activities, which include hiking, scuba-diving, shooting, fly fishing, as well as maintaining his ‘green fingers’ growing vegetables, flowers and fruit in his orchard. He plays a few rounds of golf annually, and his 2018 project to completely re-landscape the front garden.
Professionally speaking, Brian is currently the Chair of his Accounting Body’s UK Financial Services Panel, promoting the sector, and arranging events on various topical and technical events that interest Members, as well as participating in regulatory and technical consultations with accounting and regulatory bodies. He has sponsored and supported individuals wishing to start careers in both the accounting and financial advice professions.
Charity is also important to Brian and he regularly participates in local fundraising events, such as 10 KM runs, as well as supporting school children develop financial awareness within their school environment. He is the Site Security Officer of his local Allotment Society. He is also the Honorary Treasurer of a local Community Pre-School, supporting the growth of the next generation.
Debbie has been with St. James’s Place for over 15 years and joined Christopher Jane's Practice in 2017.
Debbie’s roles include; writing reports and assisting Chris and Brian in problem-solving on a daily basis, researching bespoke technical solutions that meet client’s financial needs as well as providing supporting evidence for consideration by clients. Debbie strives to deliver exceptional client service and is an invaluable member of the team.
Outside of St. James's Place Debbie enjoys travelling both home and abroad. She has recently rekindled her love of singing and joined a local choir. Debbie is married with three grown up daughters and one granddaughter
Ninah joined Christopher Jane's Practice in 2017 as the Personal Assistant to St. James’s Place Partner, Chris Jane. Over the past year, she has provided valuable administrative support and worked hard to achieve the successful implementation of new administrative processes which ensure long-term efficiency within the practice. Her role has significantly developed into a much more client-oriented position and she now acts as the first point of contact for our clients. Her aim is to provide clients with a first class experience and to ensure that the clients' expectations are not only met but over exceeded.
Ninah has demonstrable experience and care in dealing with high net worth professionals; before joining
St. James’s Place she had progressed an earlier career within the Luxury Automotive industry in Oxford and relocated to London in 2015 to support the National Franchise Director at Aston Martin Mayfair.
Outside of work Ninah is passionate about Marine Conservation and plans to obtain her PADI Open Water Diver certification early next year. She is also a lover of creative arts and keeps herself busy by painting in her spare time.
Connor has recently joined as a Practice Administration Officer to support both Chris and Brian. Connor has a BA (Hons) in English Literature and has previous experience in pension and investment administration, working for both Barnett Waddingham and Fidelity Worldwide Investments respectively.
Outside of work, Connor is a huge football fan and visits Stamford Bridge as often as possible to watch Chelsea. Connor is also a keen traveller with a particular love for South-East Asia. He regularly travels to sporting events around the world which has included going to the World Cup in Brazil, the Sumo Championships in Japan and the Melbourne Cup in Australia.
