Chris de Mellow, Chartered Financial Planner

Chris is celebrating 30 years in Wealth Management this year, having started his business in Clanfield, Hampshire. He holds a Diploma in Financial Planning and offers a full financial planning service, specialising in retirement and investment planning.

Chris was invited to join St. James's Place Wealth Management in 2007 and has since seen the Practice go from strength to strength.

He is a passionate cricket fan and also enjoys a round of golf whenever time allows!



James Burgess, Financial Planner

James has worked in the Financial Services industry for 6 years. In April 2015 he left his career in the Commercial Finance sector behind and has now graduated from the St. James’s Place Next Generation Academy and has achieved his diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. This qualification enables James to provide advice in all areas of wealth management including, investment planning, retirement planning, inheritance tax planning and protection planning.

James offers a full financial planning service and his approach is to ensure that he gains a strong understanding of where our clients are currently and where they want to be in the future. He provides our clients with a bespoke financial planning solution which is tailored to the client’s specific requirements.

He enjoys a wide range of sports and you can often find him on the golf course at the weekend looking for his golf balls.



Mark Watkiss, Trainee Financial Planner

Mark joined us in November 2017, having previously led a career in sports coaching and fitness.

Having been responsible for mortgage administration in the office, Mark is currently part of the St. James’s Place Next Generation Academy; where he is studying to achieve his Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.

When not in the office or studying, Mark can be found at Lords indulging in his passion of supporting England or on the golf course working on his handicap!



Jennifer Watkiss, Practice Manager

Jennie Watkiss joined the Practice in September 2014, leaving behind a career as a primary school teacher. She is responsible for the day to day running of the Practice, co-ordinating the team and providing a high level of service to our clients.

Jennie married Mark in Hambledon in 2015, and they both now live in Clanfield. Jennie loves to cook and trying out different recipes, she also has a great passion for gardening.



Karen Cowen, Senior Client Manager

Karen is Cert CII registered and has worked in the General Insurance industry for 35 years, recently leaving Zurich Municipal to join de Mellow & Co in the role of Client Relationship Manager.

Karen is hoping to put her knowledge of specialist insurance to good use as we look to provide our clients with an all-encompassing service.

When not in the office Karen enjoys practising Pilates and yoga, walking the family dogs and spending time with her energetic granddaughters.



Chantelle Catt, Client Manager

Chantelle joined the team in May this year following a two year break from working to help raise her two children. Previously working within the insurance industry for many years, Chantelle is now working as a Personal Assistant to the advisers within the Practice.

Outside the office Chantelle enjoys spending time with family, socialising with friends and also enjoys partaking in spin classes at the gym.



Pat Munn, Senior Business Administrator

Pat has been with the Practice for over 15 years, and manages all areas of business submission and compliance. She provides a high level of service for all our clients, ensuring their enquiries and transactions are dealt with smoothly and efficiently.

In her spare time, Pat enjoys walking the family dogs, camping and canal boat holidays.



Joanne Burgess, Events Manager

Joanne recently joined the business in May 2018, whilst she is taking a break from her teaching career to raise her daughter.

Within her role as Events Manager - Joanne is responsible for the organisation and planning of our client events throughout the year. From creation of the events, to ensuring they run smoothly on the day - Joanne overlooks all areas of our event programme.

Away from work, Joanne is a keen tennis player and can often be found enjoying brunch with her friends!



Richard Polson, Paraplanner

Richard joined the team in October 2017, having graduated in Economics and Business from the Swansea University.

As our first graduate trainee, Richard will be supporting the team with administrative tasks whilst he undertakes a diploma in regulated financial planning.

Outside of the office Richard enjoys socialising with his friends, watching sport and keeping up to date with the ever changing world of politics.



Alice Bawden, Paraplanner

Alice joined the Practice in October 2018 as a Paraplanner, assisting our Advisers in preparing recommendations for clients. Alice has worked within the financial services since 2015; starting her financial career working in the mortgage industry.

Alice is currently studying for her Diploma for Financial Advisers to expand on her knowledge within the industry, while supporting the Advisers within the Practice.

In her spare time Alice enjoys walker her Cocker Spaniel, sailing with her partner in Chichester Harbour and going back to Devon to see her family.
