My career in the financial services sector began over 30 years ago. I have developed a true passion for advising clients, building trusted and enduring relationships and found I can absorb technical knowledge and deliver it enthusiastically in a clear and concise way.

I am always happy to share my philosophy and knowledge with others by speaking passionately at a variety of industry and media events.

I was awarded Fellowship of the Chartered Insurance Institute in September 2016. Fellowship of the CII is universally regarded as the premier qualification of those working in the financial services industry. This qualification confirms technical knowledge and knowhow and as such I am required to ensure the advice, service and ongoing support based on your needs will continue to be of the highest quality.

Weald Wealth Management reflects my desire to deliver a high quality of customer service. The dedication from myself and my team has made Weald Wealth Management a success story that continues to go from strength to strength within St. James’s Place for which I am a Senior Partner.

I specialise in bespoke financial solutions and work closely with other professionals including Solicitors and Accountants to ensure my clients receive the best advice available.

It is not unusual for me to work alongside a clients’ existing professional adviser, making the process simpler and saving valuable time.

I have built my business solely on introductions from private clients and working alongside other professionals. I strive to develop a deep understanding of your personal situation to build a customised strategy that is designed with your best interests and long term goals in mind.

James Lockyer FPFS and Certs CII (SMP & ER), Wealth Management Consultant

My journey at Weald Wealth Management started in 2012 and after many hours of studying and exams I successfully achieved Chartered Financial Planner status in August 2017. I also became a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society in January 2019.

My primary role is to develop and construct financial plans (no matter how complex they may be) whilst striving to achieve complete client satisfaction in helping them reach their financial ambitions - whatever they may be!

It is incredibly important to me that our clients are happy and secure with the financial plans we create together. I firmly believe in making financial planning enjoyable by creating a good environment to develop a trusted relationship.

I am ably supported by Rebecca (see below) to ensure we deliver a consistent, friendly and valuable experience to Weald Wealth's clients.

As Director of Business Development, I also oversee the Company's marketing and technology strategies as well as overall direction of the business. It is important to me that our clients receive the best possible service in the most efficient manner.

Catherine Johnson, APFS, Wealth Management Consultant

Working with the best has always driven me because I believe that if you do something you should do it to the best of your ability and excel at it.

In the past, I have thoroughly enjoyed working on the facilities side at the House of Commons, The Savoy, BNP Paribas and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson. When I wanted to move across into the Financial Advising industry in 2012, I sought to be part of an organisation that I could believe in. The choice in the end did not prove to be difficult, St. James’s Place won hands down.

I met Michael some 20 years ago when he became my financial advisor. He has always recognised my passion around financial planning and my attitude towards the work I do, so when he invited me to join the team at Weald Wealth Management in 2016 I was proud to be asked to become part of such an outstanding Practice.

Outside of work I like to challenge myself and have completed the London Marathon, walked on fire and practice Bikram Yoga.

Matthew Johnson, Business Administration Support

I joined the Weald Wealth Team in January 2017 supplying Business Administration Support to Catherine Johnson.

Prior to joining Weald I worked for 30 years in the hospitality industry for a variety of organisations as diverse as the House of Commons, Diageo, British Standards Institution and The Royal Society of Arts.

Away from work I volunteer at a local Children’s Hospice and enjoy watching sport when I get the chance.

Sarah Rich, Head of Operations and Client Support

I have been involved in the financial services industry for 34 years and joined Weald Wealth Management in January 2011 to support Michael Lockyer.

Since 2011 the Company has flourished and I am now responsible for managing the high standards of our operational and client services team in Westerham.

I have gained valuable experience over the years and have had the pleasure in meeting many of our clients on several occasions. I enjoy assisting them with their financial affairs and helping them plan for their future.

In my spare time I enjoy abstract painting, keeping fit and am a member of my local gym. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Carly Mills, Business Operations Supervisor

I joined the Weald Wealth Management team in 2013 after seven successful years of providing administration support in varied aspects of the financial services sector.

My role is that of Business Compliance Co-ordinator and Paraplanner and I work directly alongside Sarah Rich in the Operations and Client Support team. I also work very closely with Michael and James researching and providing ongoing technical support for clients' financial and wealth planning.

Outside of work I have a busy family life with my little boy, partner and dog.

Tina Highwood, Client Support Co-ordinator

I joined Weald Wealth Management in 2014 and have worked in the Financial Services industry since 2008.

In my current role of Client Support Co-ordinator my main priority is to provide administrative assistance to Sarah Rich, Head of Operations and Client Support, to ensure the smooth running of our client services.

I have a busy family and home life which I enjoy. I also like to spend time socialising with friends, gardening and going for long walks.

Rebecca Mills, Business Admin Support Co-ordinator

I joined Weald Wealth Management in January 2016 taking on the role of Business Admin Support Co-ordinator working alongside and providing administrative support to both Sarah Rich and Carly Mills. I now provide administrative support to James Lockyer. I have also just enrolled on the St. James's Place Paraplanner Academy and am working towards becoming a qualified Paraplanner for the business.

Before joining the Weald team, I studied in Cambridge doing an undergraduate degree in Performing Arts and worked in Aviation for two and a half years. Although my previous experience is not linked to the financial industry, it has provided me with the capabilities to work well within a team and be able to learn the ropes quickly and efficiently as if learning a script.

In my spare time I enjoy singing, socialising and going to the theatre.

Emily Young, Personal Assistant to Managing Director

I joined the Weald Wealth Management Limited team in 2014 with the primary responsibility of supporting Michael Lockyer by organising and managing his day-to-day work flow with specific attention to his busy diary, emails and client correspondence.

I work very closely with all the team but particularly Sarah - Head of Operations and Julie - Projects Co-ordinator providing liaison and operational support where needed.

Before joining the team, I spent 12 years supporting a Lawyer in Central London.

In my leisure time, I am an active member of Sevenoaks Hockey Club achieving playing at an East of England level. I am a passionate follower of the Olympic Games travelling to Athens in 2004, Beijing in 2008, London in 2012 (easy journey!) and Tokyo 2020 is on the cards! Home time with my husband is a very valuable part of my life along with enjoying meals out with friends.

Julie Lockyer, Projects Co-ordinator

I have worked for the Practice since we joined St. James’s Place in 2010. My previous role in the Practice was to organise and co-ordinate events and hospitality throughout the year which I found extremely rewarding. I enjoy liaising and meeting with old and new clients, many of which have become friends over the years. My current role includes various projects and administrative duties.

I have a busy home life which I really enjoy including spending time with my family. I also enjoy taking my dogs on long walks in the countryside, socialising with friends and trying out new activities.

Gary Salter-Hammond, Chauffeur and Office Liaison

I joined the Weald Wealth Management Limited team in the second part of 2014 in the valued and pivotal role as Chauffeur to Michael Lockyer. I am wholly responsible for the travel planning and co-ordination to ensure Michael’s busy business timetable is successfully supported and fulfilled.

I work proactively alongside Emily, co-ordinating and supporting Michael’s diary and other work activities. My business experience means I am also available to provide office administration support when I am not on the road with Michael.

I arrived at Weald with 15 years’ worth of experience as a professional chauffeur. Life before chauffeuring took me through a great career in the Army in the Royal Corps of Signals serving in the UK, Germany and Cyprus before moving on to being a Communications Officer in the Metropolitan and Hertfordshire Police.

In my leisure time I enjoy spending time with my wife and working in my garden.

Sandra Saunders, Financial Controller

I joined Michael at his previous practice, Nightingale Associates, in February 1996 as a book keeper. As the business grew, my involvement became more significant and in 2010 after the sale of the practice, I transferred to Weald Wealth Management Limited.

My role is to carry out the bookkeeping for Weald Wealth Management and to provide financial information to Michael on a regular basis liaising with the Chartered Accountants to help them produce annual filed accounts.

Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends and always try to have a holiday break on the horizon! I am a keen cook and baker and often bring the results into the office for “testing”. I am also a member of a Rock Choir which I find very uplifting and sociable. I enjoy keeping fit on long walks and weekly yoga classes.
